"I know not with what weapons World War III will be fought, but World War IV will be fought with sticks and stones" - Albert Einstein United States has 9,600 active nuclear warheads Russia has 4,650 active nuclear warheads Great Britain has 600-650 France 300 China 180-240 India 60-80 Pakistan 70-90 North Korea 10 Israel 80 (From wikipedia, could be wrong) It's completely plauseable that there could be a WW 3 and it will lead to nuclear warfare. Even if agreements were made before hand, as history shows nations would do whatever they have to in order to. Knowing the number of nuclear warheads that nations poses, what would be the outcome of a full on nuclear attack on a the US. would it destroy just major cities, or the entire country. I sleep soundly at night knowing Canada would most probably not be a target, but if the US was targeted how would this effect Canada?

I wouldn't sleep so soundly. There are strategic targets in Canada, i.e. Anything to do with NORAD in Canada would be targeted.
That fancy satellite dish thinger at the University of Saskatchewan is an important cog in the communications wheel of North America. That would make an important target. The military base at Dundurn as well as the air base at Cold Lake Alberta would also be targets. Just because Canada is "nice" doesn't mean we get a pass in a nuclear holocaust. There are strategic targets on Canadian soil that a potential enemy of the USA would seek to destroy.
