Discrimination is the form of exclusion or rejection. The natives during the time of the Great Depression and World War 1 were discriminated against. They were pushed out of the way of society onto their own reserve areas where they were pushed out of the way of others. The outcome of rejecting them led to poverty, disease, alcohol abuse etc. The kids were taken to residential schools where they were not aloud to speak their language and were punished if they did. With this I can not come to understand why bans were placed on the natives. These bans were mainly of the traditional ceremonies from the native’s background and heritage. The purpose of these bans was to try and make the native people more like the white. The natives had no say in anything; they had no fishing or hunting rights. My question is what was so wrong about the natives? Why were humans so judgmental, was it the color of their skin, their tradition? What was it?
