-------------------------------------------------------------------------------- So it is my understanding that R.B Bennet was personally a very charitable man. He would answer every complaint letter that was sent to him and he would give some of his own money to the people that were in need. But when it came to government, he he the mindset that people should help themselves and that he disliked spending government money on relief payments. I don't quite understand how his way of thinking could change so drastically on the same issue. Why can someone think so differently when its the same people asking for the same thing?? Couldn't he in someway taken what he believed in(charity and helping others) and put it into practice in the government?
