After World War I was over the government promised the soldiers a "full re-establishment" after their services. The government not only did not keep their promise but they didn't even seem that thankful for the soldiers who earned Canada's autonomy in the war. The government gave wounded veterans only a small sum of money and when the soldiers asked for a reward for their service in the war they were flat out refused with any compromising. Why didn't they give them anything at all? I think that the government should of treated our World War I soldiers better than they did.

I don't honestly know enough about the specific treatment of veterans following World War I.
I know they wanted jobs and expected them; but they returned from overseas to see that their jobs were occupied by immigrants and women (that didn't go over so well).
After WW2 vets were promised a home I believe. In so far as I understand it, this promise was kept. I have heard about pensions not being given to veterans though (from both wars).
