the victory bonds were a good idea. It was a good way to pay for war costs. it also made the canadian public feel like they were a part of the war, and especially the victory. but i kind of see them as being similar to the indulgences that were being sold by the catholic church in order to get into heaven. the citizens had to pay for something that wasnt neccesarily set in stone. do you know of any ocassions where people thought of them the same way as i do and try to pull a martin luther?

I don't, Curtis. The Victory Bonds were guaranteed by the government to provide the investor a return. Now if Britain (Canada by extension) lost the war it is probable that there wouldn't have been money to give back to the citizenry.
