In this unit, we learned about how women fought for their right to vote and to have more rights during WWI, but why are we still fighting for those rights? The women during WWI were courageous and knew that they needed to have rights in order to be able to live the life they wanted and they didn't give up untill they had what they had wanted; the right to vote. We are still fighting to be payed the same as men for doing the same jobs I don't think that this should still be an issue. Shouldn't we have equal rights 90 years later? Are we as women not fighting enough? And why do we even hhave to fight for the same rights that were just given to men.
PS. I really enjoy your jokes in Reading Schedule!

It has been said that the price of liberty is eternal vigilance.
Rights are earned not given (even men had to earn certain rights from the elites of the past); however, with that said men definitely do not by and large have it as hard as women.
To be honest not every woman opposed their situation in the 19th and early 20th centuries. There were many women who in fact opposed the work of Nellie McClung, etc. I've always found it interesting that people will often hold opinions, beliefs or act in ways, etc. that are completely contrary to their interests.
