I do not believe the idea of manifest destiny to be true, that is the idea that Americans believe that they are destined to rule North America from coast to coast. Throughout the history of North America the U.S. have always been politically, economically, and militarily stronger than Canada (Mexico too). If they wanted to they could have taken Canada when we were developing as a country. The Americans destroyed the first nations inhabitants, and that was half of Canada's defense and allies. The British were bankrupt due to wars in Europe and could not properly defend Canada. The Americans put Canada into recession by simply passing a few tariffs, we economically rely on the Americans. Canada as a country has been a cookie for the taking by the Americans (americans=cookie monster if manifest destiny true). And the Americans could still take Canada today, if they did what nations could stand up to them? I believe manifest destiny to be an idea of some Americans, but when it comes down to it false.

Manifest Destiny was a ruling principle. Ruling principles by their very nature are neither "true" nor "false". They reflect a particular world-view or philosophy of governance/foreign policy.
You're correct. America does not occupy/own 100% of North America. However, from the late 18th Century on there was a sense of destiny in American politics that believed it natural that North America be dominated by ONE people (expressly the USA).
