The Klond**e Gold Rush was the greatest gold rush in history; it began the year that Laurier's liberals came to power. It was discovered by George Washington Carmack and two natives, Skookum Jim and Tagish Charlie in 1896. Once the rush began many people heard of it and came to try and collect the gold. Dawson was the town of gold country, it lands where the Yukon and Klond**e rivers meet. Having the river so close did this little town well, soon there were saloons, dance halls and theatres, banks, churches, newspapers and a telegraph service. From the sounds of how Dawson did being so close to this river there really was a lot of gold in this creek. Some people I'm sure came to that creek for nothing, ending up with no gold at all, or was it the opposite, was it really that big of a gold rush that most likely you would come and find riches?

The gold was the only thing luring people to this area of the world. There was nothing else of monetary value there.
