In the introduction to the war in upper canada, the Americans don't really give a good enough reason for the war in Canada. Like what was the point? To state who was in control? There seems like there is no point for that, also why would the americans seperate their men. I would think to attack all together and have a stronger shield would be better than to split up and have weaker forces on either side. Wouldnt they think about it, like i understand they did not have the same schooling as we do now, but it would not be that hard to think about and comprehend. The point i love the most is that the Americans had more men than upper canada yet, the anglo native force pushed them back into the states. This proves that the americans were weak and didnt have the skills as they do now.

The War of 1812 was quite unpopular with the majority of Americans. I think if the war would have been viewed as one of survival or necessity or revenge THEN maybe the Americans would've been more successful.
