when i was reading about arnold and montgomery invading canada in the mid 1770's in the middle of winter, in a snow storm not to bright. i know arnold and montgomery probably thought canadiens would be weak in the winter but if they were actually good they would have waited. They were thought to be great generals but yet they attack at there own weakest point. Were they actually good or were they just too stupid. I think since Arnold betrayed his country it would be the latter of the two.

I think the assumption of hitting Quebec City during the storm was visibility would be low so the Canadiens/British would find defence more difficult. I must admit it's not such a bright thing though in principle to launch an attack during winter in general. Attacks usually came in the spring or summer months (but if you recall Montgomery and Arnold both got held up and their travels took longer than expected...so they were late).
